Who we are
This policy is issued by the operator of the SPOT for Hosts service (“we,” “us”). SPOT for Hosts is our host product (accounts, properties, guides, sharing, and analytics). SPOT is the guest-facing voice assistant inside that product. Other companies use similar names; we are not those companies and this policy does not cover their products.
Who this policy covers
- Hosts — people who create an account and manage properties or guides
- Guests — people who open a shared guide link or QR code, including people who talk to SPOT
- Visitors — people who browse public pages such as the homepage, this policy, or the waitlist
Hosts are responsible for telling their guests how a shared guide works, including that talking to SPOT sends audio to us and our processors so we can answer from the host’s guide.
Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run SPOT for Hosts:
- Account data you provide or that our sign-in provider supplies (such as name and email)
- Host content you create (property details, guide text, settings, share recipients you enter)
- Technical data (device, browser, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, pages viewed, and logs) used to operate, secure, and understand the service
- Voice data when someone uses SPOT: audio is processed to produce a reply from the published guide. We may store usage metadata (for example time, duration, and token counts) for analytics and abuse prevention. We do not use voice audio for advertising.
We do not ask guests to create an account. Guest access is through the link or QR code a host chooses to share.
How we use information
- Provide SPOT for Hosts and the SPOT voice assistant as described on this site
- Keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems
- Send service, security, and (where you have opted in or as otherwise allowed) product messages
- Understand aggregate usage so we can improve reliability and features
- Comply with law
We do not use your content to imply an endorsement of any listing platform, and we do not sell personal information.
Sharing and processors
We share data with independent service providers only as needed to operate SPOT for Hosts — for example authentication, hosting, email delivery, analytics, and speech or AI processing. They may process data only on our instructions and under contracts that require appropriate safeguards. Naming a provider here identifies a tool we use; it is not a partnership, sponsorship, or endorsement, and those companies’ names and marks belong to them.
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser). Google may set cookies or similar identifiers. You can control cookies in your browser settings. Google’s marks and products are Google’s; we are not Google and are not a Google product.
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the service, our users, or others from harm or fraud.
Cookies
We and our processors use cookies and similar technologies for sign-in, security, preferences, and analytics. Blocking cookies may limit parts of the service (especially sign-in). Browser settings let you refuse or delete cookies.
Retention and security
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above, including backups, security, and legal requirements. We use industry-standard safeguards. No system is fully secure; we work to improve our protections over time.
Your choices
- Hosts can access, update, or delete account and guide information from the product or by contacting us
- Marketing emails include an unsubscribe link
- You can control cookies in your browser
- Guests can stop using a guide or the voice assistant at any time; hosts control whether a guide stays published
Children
SPOT for Hosts is for hosts who are 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy as the service changes. The date above shows the latest version. Continued use after a posted change means you accept the updated policy. Our Terms of Service describe use of the product.
